Kinja'd!!!

It was an unseasonably warm day in my part of the world, and a lot of people were out on scooters, motorcycles, or in convertibles. These scoots were seen by my dad at the beach.

And my scooter? I took it out for a nice pleasant ride...all the way to my mechanic. The charging system is not doing its job very well. Rev the engine and the voltage drops. So a new regulator is on the way. The ride was nice as it was in the high 60s here, but I’ll be a lot happier when the scooter is operating correctly.

A January ride! Nice!

Hopefully your scoot will be in tip-top once the charging system is sorted.

Hopefully. It also stalled a few times on the way there. Turns out that the air vent for the fuel tank was pinched close, subtle fuel wasn't flowing very well. But it was warm and I was happy just to be riding.

I remember someone on a Ruckus forum many years ago that crafted a sidecar for his little Honda out of one designed for bicycles. He used it to transport his dog, as memory serves.

Pretty clever, but I’m not sure if I would personally trust that little wheel and tire on the sidecar.

I've always wondered why no one seems to make sidecars for scooters. I would have thought that in developing countries where whole families ride together a sidecar would seem like a better and safer option.

Any day riding can't be too bad. I think you'll have the bugs worked out of it, by the time the proper riding season arrives :)

I've seen a few, but I agree that they are surprisingly uncommon. Maybe it's a money issue, or maybe sidecars just take up too much space on crowded roads.

You can buy a Ruckus sidecar for $1, 995. Pretty cool, but a tough sell for such an inexpensive scooter.

Clever indeed, but I definitely wouldn’t trust that wheel/axle/hub. There isn’t m uch t o them.

Came here to say this. Cool side car, but cost just as much as the Ruck itself.

For the price of a sidecar, you could just buy a second scooter for your passenger.

Exactly, or two cheap ones! Now you just have to find more friends!

I suppose it makes sense if you have an occasional passenger that doesn’t want to be in control.

I also could see getting a sidecar for occasional cargo carrying usage. I like the one you can buy for the Grom, and it costs about $1,600.
